Little Brown Bag

It wouldn't be a trip to New York City without a trip to Bloomingdales at 59th St and Lexington!

I have been hooked on tiny delicate necklaces that can be worn daily with any outfit and Bloomingdales had a good selection.  I prefer to spend a little more on solid gold so that the metal doesn't dull over daily wear.  When I find something I love I tend to wear it into the ground, which is why I will spend more on quality product.

After browsing through fine jewelry, the final contender was a necklace with a rose gold chain and a white gold bar with tiny diamonds.  The tiny delicate details and mixed metals make this necklace the perfect accessory for a simple denim and tee outfit.

These necklaces are part of a series that can be layered and mix n' matched!

The Jetsetter's In Flight Kit

This week I am flying to my second home in NYC.  I make this voyage a few times a year and I have become a pro at packing the essentials for a comfortable flight.  I usually fly on a red eye so my main goal is to get some sleep!

My kit includes:

-Marc Jacobs fleece lined pullover.  It's so soft you feel like you're in a cloud!

-Small soft clutch for personal necessities

-Memory foam neck pillow

-My iPod for relaxing tunes to drown out airplane noise

- Eye mask

-iPad Mini in case inspiration strikes and I want to write

-Cashmere pashmina which can double as a light blanket on a chilly flight

-Rayon and angora blend beanie for a toasty warm flight

Additional in flight tip:
When the stewardess asks for your drink order, always choose water.  Traveling is stressful on your body so staying hydrated is important.   Carrying Emergen-C or Airborne is always a good idea to avoid catching a bug from a fellow passenger.

Now sit back, relax and enjoy your flight!

Happy Hanukah!

This year was my first time celebrating Hanukah.  I was invited to a traditional Hanukah dinner by my coworkers and the food was amazing! They are Persian so it was a mix of traditional jewish food and Mediterranean food.  Sadly the names of most of the foods are too complicated for me to remember but I do remember the brisket which was amazing!

Along with amazing food I also received my first Hanukah gifts!!

Firstly, I received the perfect clutch for running around in the daytime.  Comes with a detachable chain strap so you can throw it over your shoulder.  I'm in love with the sophisticated aztec print and leather detail, perfect to go with a minimalist outfit!

Second was a Fringe Venice Fleurs bar soap.  It looks beautiful in my bathroom and I love the scent!

Holiday Loot!

This post is a shout out to all my amazing coworkers! You have spoiled me rotten with all the pretty trinkets I've received.  We spend so much time with our office mates so it's really nice to take a moment and appreciate each other.

I rarely wear lipstick but I would like to try it more for 2015.  So my girlfriend bought me MAC because that's the perfect place to start!

L'Occitane travel hand cream is perfect to throw in your bag and smells amazing!

One of my friends was very creative and made a spa kit inside a mason jar.  It includes a Julep Nail Lacquer in Tatum Bombshell, Yes to Grapefruits Lip Balm, Sally Hanson Hard as Nails Hardener, Nivea Creme, Ghirardelli Twilight Delight Dark Chocolates and Que Belle Relaxing Bath Oil, Lavender Aromatherapy Mask, Dead Sea Mud Mask and Cherry & Apricot Facial Exfoliator.
I was amazed at everything she could fit inside it!

Welcome to my blog!

Allow me to introduce myself! I am a 28 year old fashion professional living in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I have worked in several channels of the fashion industry for over 8 years.  My resume includes everything from a sales floor attendant, visual merchandising manager, buying intern, product development and sourcing intern, assistant buyer, social media coordinator and now most currently a merchant working for an online marketplace at a fashion start up.

I have been at my current position for almost a year now and I truly love my team and the amazing products we sell on the site.  I manage the Fitness and Sporting Goods department, which is right up my alley because I'm a fitness enthusiast.

With all that said, I do feel that I would like my career to begin moving in a slightly different direction.   As I have been working in ecommerce for the last 2 years, I have discovered my love for amazing blogs and online magazines.  The mix of merchandising with editorial content to create a lifestyle brand is something I am very interested in.  This blog is my venture into creating my own lifestyle brand and sharing my experiences with anyone willing to listen.  My goal is to have achieved this by my 30th birthday, hence the name Turning 30!

Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope you return soon!
